Introduction
Welcome to the LancerHacks Resources page! This page is your central hub for tools, tutorials, project resources, and support throughout the hackathon. Whether this is your first hackathon or you already have experience building projects, use these resources whenever you need help getting started or learning something new. You do not need to know every tool listed here. Choose the technologies that make the most sense for your project and your team.
Tools and Technologies
There is no required programming language, framework, or development platform for LancerHacks. Depending on your project, you may find tools such as the following helpful:
-
GitHub — version control and team collaboration
-
VS Code or another IDE — development environment
-
Google Colab / Jupyter Notebook — Python and data science projects
-
APIs and open-source libraries — adding functionality and external data
-
AI-assisted development tools — brainstorming, coding, debugging, and prototyping
-
Hardware platforms — for teams building physical or embedded projects
Inspiration
Not sure where to start? Think about a problem, experience, or opportunity that matters to you and your team. Your project does not have to be extremely complex. A simple idea with a clear purpose and a working prototype can make a strong hackathon project. Use the examples and resources in our Resource Sheet to explore different technologies and project possibilities. The Main Challenge will be revealed at the start of LancerHacks, so these resources are meant for learning and inspiration rather than preparing a completed project in advance.
